With Mariska's birthday falling the week of Thanksgiving I thought it would be wise to have her birthday party the week before to ensure her friends could come. Riska has fallen in love with the Disney princesses so we had a princess party. I can't believe that she is going to be three. She has really turned into a fun and beautiful little girl. We love and adore her so much. Happy Birthday Riska I Love You!!!!!!!!
Food included princess juice ( Raspberry sherbet and lemon lime drink) and home made castle cake. She asked for one and I really tried. Not to impressed with it but John reminded me that she is only three and will love it no matter what because it is cake. She did love it and even told me that I did a good job. Bless her little heart.
Mariska let me be a princess after the party was over.

Mariska and Jack
One Eyed Jack
As of Yesterday Jack is two weeks old. He still prefers to only open his right eye most of the time. The left eye has finally opened but only half way. I was concerned about it but after talking to the doc he said that sometimes babies prefer to use one eye more than the other. I thought that was interesting. I love when he looks at me with his one eye. Mariska finds it absolutely hilarious.
Swing Time
I remember with Mariska how I always wanted to hold her and I was fine just letting her sleep in my arms. Don't get me wrong I love holding Jack and I love letting him sleep in my arms but it just isn't possible to do it as often because I have Mariska and she needs mom time too. We borrowed a really nice swing from Johns brother and his wife. It has been a great thing to have. Several times I have found him in the swing surrounded by an assortment of Mariska's toys. At least she is willing to share even if he can't play with them.
Halloween Pumpkins
Gingerbread house Take Two
I don't know if you recall the disaster we had when building the gingerbread house last Christmas. Apparently we are not meant to build gingerbread houses. My mom found this really cute Halloween haunted gingerbread house kit when shopping in Yakima. Since we didn't dress up and go trick or treating we decided to put the house together instead. It stayed together until we started to put the candy on it. At least Mariska enjoyed herself. Guess we will have another go at Christmas!
