Pumpkins 2010

I love carving pumpkins! I have no idea why. Everything about it is so fun. This year John thought it would be fun to do something different. I am glad we did. Love how the pumpkin turned out.

Just in case... We are big baseball fans our team being the Seattle Mariners.

Success At Last!!

The last two years we have tried to do a ginger bread house. I say try because we failed miserably! Both times we ended up with something that looked more like an homage to Hurricane Katrina.
This year we finally figured it out. (Thank you mom!)

I did the frosting and Riska did parts of the candy. She was more interested in eating the candy!
Can't wait to do it again for Christmas!

Halloween Pumpkins

With how close to Halloween Jack arrived and how young Mariska is we decided it would not hurt anything to skip it this year. We already had the pumpkins so I figured why not carve and paint them. This is what we came up with this year.

Gingerbread house Take Two

I don't know if you recall the disaster we had when building the gingerbread house last Christmas. Apparently we are not meant to build gingerbread houses. My mom found this really cute Halloween haunted gingerbread house kit when shopping in Yakima. Since we didn't dress up and go trick or treating we decided to put the house together instead. It stayed together until we started to put the candy on it. At least Mariska enjoyed herself. Guess we will have another go at Christmas!

Pumpkin Carving

We were so excited about how this turned out, I had to share. Mariska didn't like the sound of the little saw we used but once we got the seeds out and separated them from the goop she loved to put her hands in them. Kids are funny. We have never carved pumpkins before and we decided to do something fun with this one. Hope you all have a great Halloween. Be safe.
